How to repair a CV Boot (specific and universal)
How to repair a CV Boot using our specific or universal repair kit.
Specific CV Boot
- Remove the clamps
- Cut the CV boot which need to be changed.
Disassemble the CV joint - Clean the grease from the CV joint with a piece of paper
- Assemble the CV boots
- Assemble the CV joint
- Lubricate it with grease
- Fit the boots into the CV joint
- Put the new clamps on.
Universal CV Boot (with tool)
- Remove the clamps
- Cut the boot to be changed
Clean the grease from the CV joint with a piece of paper - Assemble the boot on the tool
- Stretch it out and pass it through the CV joint
- Return the boot to its original size and remove the tool
- Lubricate it with grease
- Fit one side of the boot into the CV joint and the other one into the drive shaft
- Finally, fit in the new clamps.
Universal CV boot (with cone)
- Remove the clamps.
- Cut the boot to be changed.
- Clean the grease from the CV joint with a piece of paper.
- Assemble the cone.
- Assemble the boot on the cone in the opposite direction.
- Slide the boot and turn it into its correct position.
- Lubricate with grease.
- Fit one side of the boot into the CV joint and the other one into the drive shaft.
- Fit in the new clamps.
